Over 3 years ago I was exactly where you are today. I had a job that some would've considered secure. I was a government employee. I have a degree in Small Business Management from DeVry University, and I was feeling like going to college was the BIGGEST MISTAKE of my life! I was not making enough money to pay the bills much less pay back student loans! I was frustrated, tired of being underpaid, and hated waking up at 5AM and not getting back to my home until 5:30-6:00PM in the evenings.

Not to mention that my beloved dog Samson hated it too (he suffered from Separation Anxiety which meant I would come home to ripped up carpets, gaping holes in my walls and a sad and sometimes even bleeding dog). I knew that there had to be more but didn't know where to start. I applied for dozens of jobs. I researched a ton of search terms "work at home, making money online, supplemental income..." you get the idea. 

Then I stumbled on "Virtual Assistant" and I spent literally over a hundred hours trying to figure things out. I quit my job and then spent the first year wondering if I had made the 2nd BIGGEST MISTAKE of my life. You see, I was struggling! Here's why:
